Hawaii Car Rental Tax Increases 2011

Hawaii Governer Neil Abercrombie has signed into law rental car tax increases of 2011 passed by the state Legislature. Hawaii is one of the states which employs fixed-rate taxes for the vehicle rental industry. The governor approved measures eliminating business exemptions, raising vehicle fees and shrinking deductions.

Our rates page contains base rates in U.S dollars. Although we don't add any booking fees, unavoidable Hawaii govt. taxes will be added to each rental, regardless of whomever you rent from. You can calculate this by taking the base rate and adding $7.50 to each day and then multiplying the total by 13%. (ouch, I know) This will be calculated for you when you receive your guaranteed, and non-binding, reservation from us.
